Its been a very busy 12 months for me as I was commissioned by Arts Council England to host the Northern Art Carbooty in Manchester and tour this model to Blackpool in October 2015 although the work started in October 2014!
The event was made up of live art including Paper Gallery artist Rachel Pursglove and the ‘repetitive task’, table top selling from the likes of Stanley Chow, food, music, community led stalls and a special performance from Urban Dance Project.
It was the most challenging commission to date, working with Manchester based creatives and the most positive outcome of all was my art residency with the Blackpool Boys and Girls Club on Mereside.
Teaching the Young People how to Screen Print and tell their stories of the Mereside Cat through a special publication zine was the highlight of the year. I continue to volunteer at the club ensuring the experience with Carbooty was worthwhile.
I am happy to say I will not be working with the Carbooty curators on future projects but may explore events in the future alone.
